We are trying to set up some definitions of "green" or sustainable here at SGIA.

In a perfect world, it may be simpler to express what the ultimate in green might be and then figure out what "shade" of that ultimate green you can afford to print with.

Perfect...would be no emmissions of VOC or toxic air emmissions, no discharge of waste water that cannot be treated to drinking water levels by currently used waste treatment plant methods and no non-biodegradable solid wastes. And...there has not yet been a total definition of biodegradable. Is it aerobic or anaerobic, is it 6 months or 10 years?

Then sustainability comes into play. meaning (partly) are your printing with raw materials that are replenishable (natural fibers etc), how many of your raw material products require fossil fuels for manufacture and what is that ratio.

Last question, if someone sets a limit or definitionfor all ofthis...what is that definition based on....politics or science? Ray
