This might be a problem. I assume you are using a parts washing system for cleaning things like squeegees, screen and floodbars? Yes...the Fram filter is one of the worst made. Its responsible for killing a great many engines. That same issue...mostly with the quality of the media when wet with anything...can just cause a mess.
In the automotive end, the Fram filter packs up with sediment and then blows holes through the media. The amount of solids and carbon in engine oil in 10k miles...is far less than the level of solids that you can get from just a couple of screens. This is why all of the recirculator manufacturers for the screen industry use spun rayon cartridges that are the same as water filters. They have so much more surface area and pressure capability. They Are very cheap by the case.
The reason people like safety clean can get away with using a spin on oil type filter ...is because (a) they have a bag filter for course stuff (b)the sump is designed to settle under the bag filter (c) the filter they use is nothing like a fram on the inside.

lastly...and most importantly. The Fram filters are sealed at the bottom of the pleat section by a filling of ....plastisol! Yep...your ink degradents will eat them. They were made for oil not solvents. The better quality of filters went to urethane fill about 9 years ago. If you want an oil filter that WILL work with pastisol solvents....use Wix. They are urethane. Ray
