That is very true, but metal is a limited resource, wood is renewable. Here in Georgia, timber farming is a huge industry providing over 19 billion dollars in revenue. Through managed forestry, the US have more trees than we did in 1970, on the first Earth Day, we also have more trees now than we did 70 years ago. As a matter of fact, most states like Vermont,Massachusetts and Connecticut were 35% forested, today they are nearly 59%. It's all about responsibility, same thing with the Cali wildfires, controlled burning would have prevented that, but environmental groups are absolutely against. Also, clear cutting mimics the natural cycle of a forest. Yes, it's ugly, but no more ugly than a sweeping wildfire. There is only a certain amount of area that is allowed to be clearcut at one time. Also, all of those trees must be replanted, that is law. And, is they weren't we would run out of a precious resource. ____________________ replaprints.com | ||
