Well it all depends on who you choose to listen to but glaciers are melting and they do not reform every year. Sure you get some new ice/snow on top but not enough to replace what is melting. New surveys from satellites and aircraft document an alarming acceleration in the melting of glaciers around the world. and Himalay , Fast Melting Glaciers are just 2 out of hundreds of indicators. Now I do not dispute that the jury is still out about the effects humans have had on all of this but it is still happening none the less and indicated buy this study that strive to show that mankind is not affecting the warming at all, but it still cannot dispute warming is occurring. And coating your roofs in the northern latitudes actually will reflect more heat back into space than it will in the south.
