I have a few suggestions for you that will hopefully help. First, try raising your off contact distance a bit. The rough texture could be caused by the screen mesh sticking into the print too much. This would help with that. Second, use a thicker emulsion stencil. With a thicker stencil, more ink will clear the screen per print and it will also help prevent you from driving the ink into the shirt. Finally, check the tension on your screens. A loose screen will make this problem unbeatable. Keep in mind, if you are printing with the colormax inks and you are printing/flashing/printing, a 158 mesh count will still cover a dark T-shirt very well. It will also have a nicer texture.
