After collecting over 200 white Gildans with a garden variety of stains and spots I sent them back to our distributor so they could call for a mill check. I'm talking about some stains that look like red Georgia clay and others that look like someone wiped their rear with it. Some had been printed in one or two locations before we noticed the stains and some had the tiny spots that appear after they first went through the dryer. I'm not asking for any kind of credit for the goods/freight only that someone there take a look at what's going on then try to get it corrected. We appreciate and value the relationship with our 1st call distributor but it sounds to me like someone is trying to sweep this one under the carpet. Our days with Gildan are done until they can provide a reasonable product and I don't think the 6% - 7% defect rate we're seeing would be considered reasonable - not here anyway. Here's their response to my request. Anvil here we come!!!

...the items you returned would not qualify for a mill inspection.
They are categorized as damages not mill defects. So unfortunately these items will be sent back to you.The only way that we can avoid this problem in the future is to follow or return procedure for damages, which would be to fully inspect the items before printing , and call us within 72hours of receiving any damaged or defective items ...
