We have had discussions pertaining to inks and baby wear. As it stands now, standard inks (both plastisol and waterbased) need fire retartdants added to use (legally) on clothing that infants can sleep in. As for phthalates in inks on children's wear, I'd have to think that modest decoration with phthalate-containing inks would still fall well below the 1/10 of 1% limit for the whole product as covered by the California legislation. Under the new law, any product made for young children that contains more than one-tenth of 1% of phthalates (pronounced "THA-lates"  cannot be made, sold or distributed in California beginning in 2009.Environmental groups have primarily been concerned with products that children could put in their mouths, as well as baby bottles and other items that hold food for kids. ____________________ The Board Best Helps Those Who Help Themselves.
