You know your kids....would you trust them to prepare an entire meal unsupervised? Or trust them to ride a bus downtown and walk two blocks to the library, then get home the same way.

If they're mature and understand the environment, put 'em to work. my 14 year old did his first summer with me and he not only loved it, but he got to setup a design by himself on his last day(Tedder's Chevy truck design, at that) Not only does he now realize that every dolar I have is earned, he appreciates me and what I go through before i get home to him in the evening.

3 months ago he had no clue....now he knows that that MP3 player i bought him would have cost him 4 days pay.

Now, if like my 13 year old, they're still children in every sense of the word, let 'em fold or file.
