That's weird they keep doing that. I just bought some 3M 1357 adhesive. It's the only rubber adhesive I could find with high temp resistance. What did they send you?

Try pulling off the rubber and sanding the tops down with an orbital sander. Start with a low grit and work up. Clean 'em real good then apply the adhesive to both the platen and the rubber and clamp or weight down overnite.

It almost sounds like there's something on the platen that the rubber adhesive doesn't want to stick to. That 3M stuff should be plenty powerful. Right now, I'm using Textac to actually hold my rubber top onto an aluminum platen. I can flash all day on it.

Check the platen surfaces.
