Shawn, Unless you've seen an Antec Legend up close and in person, I'd strongly recommend spending the time to get to a show to look at all the presses out there, or to visit shops that have several different presses installed. AND, I'm assuming you mean an Antec Legend . . . they also make a cheaper entry level press that the guy at the show wasn't even interested in showing me and isn't the press you'll see owners raving about on these boards. You're apparently soured on Vastex, which is too bad because the V-2000's are a great press, but I'd look at Workhorse, BWM Hopkins, and even M&R Chameleons (although they're supposed to be a little too heavy), as well as the Legend. I've read comments that the Legend stands up well by people who own them, and I don't beat up my own equipment, but when you say you need a press that can take a beating, I'm not sure the Legend is the press for you. Look at one IN PERSON first. Since you've got your Vastex up for sale, don't make the same mistake twice by buying something sight unseen. I'd certainly consider the Legend for myself, but I'm easy on equipment, and it has features I like, but I'd also buy another Vastex V-2000 in a heartbeat (although an 8-color this time). Take your time. | |
