I think you may need to pay a transfer fee or pay the 'second user' charge but you may need to confirm this with FM themselves. I tried to install the same FM on my laptop that I have on my desktop PC. This is so I could do quotes in the field, however I was unable to do this as the registration key would not work on another computer. To achieve this I would need to pay a fee of US$295.00 to get another unlock key. This is after paying US$1295.00 for the initial program. (Thats a lot of New Zealand currency!) It would have been nice to have FM a little more flexible and allow a second user (computer) without the need of costing more. I am wanting to have a flexible FM setup in my shop as I have 2 offices, one in the front of my building where I interact with clients and another in the back where the real office stuff goes on. Ideally I want 2 FM systems that are networked together so I am able to do an immediate quote with a client out front then and there and to have this info immediately updated to the FM in the main office where I can then use the program proper to process all the work orders/invoices etc. My business partner is currently trying to figure out how to get FM running on one of our Macs out front via Virtual PC and networking it to the PC in the back. We dont yet know if it will work but we will give it a try....it could be costly if it doesnt work! Oh how I wish we lived in an ideal world ![]() Dave ____________________ David | |
