After about a year of moderate/heavy use, we have had one die on us, but only after trying to use an off brand bulk ink system. That appears to be the cause of its failure. Ink was leaking into the head, and then dried. Coming from an old laser printer & vellum, it was enough of a jump up in affordable quality that we bought 2 more R1800 (one still in the box as a back-up just in case), and are sticking to name brand inks. So far so good. I might be inclined to suggest a larger printer, only because of occasional limitations with printing only up to 13X19 sheets, but for us it is so rare, that we have stuck with the R1800. | ||
