Its also common that just heat alone can start a warping process. But bear this in mind...once the warping process starts for whatever reason....it will cause...as you noted you have found....an increase in squeegee pressure. That increase in squeegee pressure....accelerates the wapring. How are your pallates mounted? If they are mounted with a high strength adhesive patch like many are, you can separate the pallate top, clamp the pallate face onto a milled flat piece of steel and bake them in the oven while clamped at about 350...and then let them cool very slow. Now...that a lot of work...and will straighten a solid pallate (and wreck a honeycombed one)....but it also generally notes that you are dealing with aluminum that is not heat treated. Most are not. Its too expensive. You are correct...that greatly overheated pallates can take on a permanent "cast" or warp. But once it starts...the adjustment you do to counteract the issue (pressure) makes it worse. Ray | ||
