When I start Illustrator the program opens into a new document. AI also opens four palletes, which are randomly scattered around the workspace. How can I get AI to not open the palletes upoun start up (or at the least have them appear lined up on one side). I must be missing the obvious and I'm tired of closing the palletes every time I start AI. Enlighten me please! I see that shift/tab clears the open palletes and leaves the tools, but I still can't figure out how to get AI to open with my last arrangement. Even deleting the preferences file does not send all of the palletes to side when opening, nor preserves the final arrangement that I would like see at start up. Oh, well...
