We have an Xante Acela-Writer 3G and are experiencing the following problem, any insights would be appreciated. When printing separations from Illustrator 10 or CS we are getting a streak across the output where there is no toner being layed down on the vellum. The streak moves from the top of the image to the bottom with consecutive plates run. To clarify, if the first streak on Plate #1 is for example 6 inces from the top of the page, on the second plate, the streak may be 7.25" from the top of the page. By the top of the page I mean the leading edge of the vellum that the printer takes. We have contacted Xante on a number of occasions, and they have continually claimed that the problem is with the toner cart. However, we have tested both the Cart. from Xante and a 3rd party and have experienced the same problem. When we replace the cart, the problem seems to clear up for a while, and then re-appears well before the toner cart should be used up. We have also used the paper path cleaning sheets, and while that has cleaned up some of the perriferal spots and stray toner, it has not solved the problem with the streaking.
