I have been struggling with this combination for about a month now and I would welcome any help. The FastRip program we purchased is not for the 4880, but rather the 4800, with a patch US Screen sent, and we're really stuggling. Let me mention that we come from Fast Rip 7 and an Epson 3000 that worked flawlessly for over 5 years, but then mysteriously starting having problems...anyhoo...this present combination is causing me to pull my hair out.
First of all, the software we receive it for the 4800. When it wouldn't install, I was sent a patch from USScreen, and although it works on my 4880 it still sees it as 4800. The manual provided was for the 4800 so it's screen shots don't match what we see...causing great confusion. Nesting...it's totally different than what we are shown in our manual..I had to email USScreen to find this out, and once I found it, it still doesn't work the way the book outlines; it like to place separations right on top of eachother. So, I guess my question is: Is there anyone who is using the same combination of software/printer who would be willing to help me one on one? Before I purchased my upgrade I would have had nothing bad to say about USScreen and FastRip, but now I am fully frustrated. I would love help from any user. I will email you directly if you are willing. Peace.
