Madeira Classic 30 is thicker than 40. But Madeira is one of the better threads around so why "better or thicker". If you are suffering from thread breaks then what is causing it? Incorrect tension, fluff build up or ...... ? Hearing that you are new to embroidery I would suspect any of the above.
