"I am not talking robbing the rich and giving to the poor here allthough for some reason in our country the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The middle class is disappearing and joing the ranks of the poor." That statement could not be further from the truth if you meant it to be. The middle class is shrinking, and the lower class isn't growing. Do you know what that means? If you answered the upper class is growing, YOU'D BE CORRECT!!! Ok, the perfect example of handouts is New Orleans. The government managed to make thousands of people dependent on handouts. These people didn't get out because the expected the government to get them out. Also, these same people are now expecting the government to rebuild their houses or pay to have them rebuilt. When the Vietnamese have already rebuilt because through the generations, they have managed to rely on only themselves. Up until very recently the unemployment rate was dropping. That is amazing, it is still virtually microscopic. There are jobs available, there are plenty. It might not be what you are looking for and it may not make you rich, but it will provide. I am tired of people making excuses for the lazy. If I got fired, I'd have a new job by the end of the weekend. It may be stocking shelves at Wal-Mart or running a cash register at Kroger, but by God I would have another job, maybe 2. That my friend is good old fashioned work ethic. I bought my house and have spent every day improving it. That again is work ethic. I work everyday to improve my life and the life of my family. That is work ethic. If more people had it, less people would be poor. Also, 2.8% of people are born into wealth so much they don't have to work.
