Thanks for everybody's help, especially Dave. Nice to see a product from a company that has friendly, knowledgable and most of all helpfull people working for it. Rare these days and appreciated! The pressure washer is the key! I was able to get good results on a 230 mesh and a 156 mesh. With my solid step test: 230 - 3:40 Starts not washing out 230 - 4:40 Stops washing out 156 - 4:20 Starts not washing out 156 - 5:20 Stops washing out This is with a 1K light source about 30 inches below glass. Those times are rough and is close the the point in my steps where the emulsion is just getting difficult to washout and gives me a guide for further testing. For both mesh counts adding 20 seconds the the numbers above the emulsion could come out if I worked it and add 40 seconds and it would only come out if I put the nozzle right up close to the mesh and held it for 5 seconds. Add 60 seconds and it was on there. I ran out of coated screens and have more drying now. My test steps were 20 seconds apart and spanned 2-6 minutes. It's a weird feeling pointing a power washer at a just exposed screen. Took me a few times to get over the feeling I was doing something I shouldn't have been doing! The emulsion that received the full 6 minute exposure was quite durable and stood up to the power wash but was easy as pie to reclaim. My next batch of tests will be with an actual stencil as I am sure I will get different results. My stencils are pretty dark but not as opaque as a cut up pendaflex folder which is what I made my step test from ![]() I will post my complete results here in a few days. Thanks again! ![]() ____________________ Riley Hopkins 8/4 WorkHorse Point 1K Exposure Unit WorkHorse Primus 18x20 Flash WorkHorse Compact Conveyer Dryer Dual 500 Mac G4, 1.5GB RAM, OS X 10.3.9, 1TB storage | |
