It may not be economically feasible to improve your light source but with information provided, the weak light source may be the cause of problem. A suggestion of richardgreaves is to step up from 25 watt to 500 is excellent and he has provided very good basic exposure info. You may want to look at this article. kiwo.com Check out Correct Exposure Time of Stencil and Equipment Limitations. Again, major improvements may not be in your budget so try taking the small step that was suggested by Mr Greaves. QTX is Ultra Fast Exposing emulsion and may realize exposure improvements with improved light source. We have used Ulano products for ten years and never had quality issues. It is winter and your product may have seen freezing temps but again, go after your light source and try QX-1 again. FYI - A 230/48 mesh screen at 28 N/cm demonstrates mesh thickness of 64 microns. Coated with QTX and 12 microns EOM is now a total thickness of 76 microns. Our exposure unit is 7500 watts and exposure for the above requires 12 light units or approximatly 12 seconds. I only offer this info to help you understand the importance of a quality light source. Again, this may not be in your budget now. Keep in mind that we used the sun to expose at one time. Hope to hear follow up from you. Good Luck, Wes [Edited on 4/11/07 by bearwhiz] | ||
