A 21 step guide is a small piece of film with 21 sections that go from clear to dark. These act to filter out some of the light when exposing. You want everything from the step 8-21 to wash out. Wash it out like normal, no cheating. If you give it a light washout, you could make a solid step5 into a solid step 9. The opposite is true if you take a pressure washer to it. If you van wash it out to a 5 its under exposed. If you can only wash it out to am 8 it's over exposed. The instructions for changing the exposure times are on the package.

Call your emulsion supplier and ask for a free 21 step guide. If they won't give you one for free call this number and ask for one. 1-800-431-2200
