Here are some other thoughts if you sell direct to someone.
get insurance for the transport. Have an agent from your insurance co
witness and certify the workabvility of the machine BEFORE it is
packed and shipped. That way if it gets broken in transit you can
prove it worked when it left. Perhaps you would suggest your buyer pay
for this.

Know how much someone would have to pay to buy your machine new, you
will not get 100% for your machine even if it is very new.
Is the warranty transferrable.
Publish the serial number so perspective buyers can call SWF and get
machine history.

List all the goodies you have to sell with it.
Research locally any moving AND PACKING companies in your area that
can come in and pack and ship the mavchine for your perspective buyer.
Get a rough estimate for the packing and shipping for a couple of
shipping zones. They will pay for this but if you have it together so
to speak they may be more inclined to go with the deal. DO THE LEG
WORK anyone wanting your machine has stars in their eyes not reality
do the hard stuff that will get your machine sold.

Advertise locally, we bought two used machines within 40 miles of our
shop and we are in a very low populated area. Someone in your area
might have your dream, sell it as a business you said you did pretty
well sell the cust list with the goods it is an asset.

Lastly there is always e-bay and Craigs list
