  Hi Tony
Quantum One inks (Q1) are indeed a matte finish, should any gloss begin to appear this indicates that a little too much ink is going down.

There is a Pantone mixing system and there is an excellent software, which calculates and has a recycling facility. this available from www.wilflex.com go on downloads.

The recipes are the same as the MX system, Q1 does not have its own tab.

The system is pretty accurate to pantone, therefore the colours you mix will range from semi transparent to opaque. You will also reach your desired shade in the fraction of the time when compared to a fully opaque system more of the time.

Should you take the time to enter your actual ink cost into the software you will be able to price in your inks to the cent, I think that you will be presently surprised at the actual running cost of this system. the purchase price may seem a little higher in comparison to normal plastisol inks but the running cost compared to alternative PVC/Phthalate free systems such as water based is significantly lower and the printing speeds are much faster, add to that no waste and you have got yourself a pretty cost effective solution.

Best of luck

Shoney
