Using Buffalo White as an under-base in simple line-art. When overprint color is printed, a moiré patten is clearly visible. Using 125-mesh for white and a 160 for over print color. Blues and Red are the worst. Double stroking the color helps but not completely. This is a relatively new problem we are en-counting. When I was using Plastomeric White, never had a problem like this. I got a sample of a Rutland under-base white while running a job like this. White with red on top. When the shirts came around, wham moiré pattern. I switched out the whites for Plastomaric and the patten was gone. Since then its been impossible to find the same Plastomaric white once PolyOne bought out Plastomaric. All I can think of is that the mesh weave is leaving a pattern in the flashed under-base white and the overprint colors mesh is causing the interference to form the moiré. Any other ideas out there that could cause the patterns? Thanks | ||
