Ok, so here goes the stupid newbie question of the day. I just bought a press that came with 20 large roller frames (large to me at least) but 90% have no screen in them. I need to pull out what few lock strips remain in them and try my hand at installing new screen (got the 1E meter too). I have basically ripped the first frame to shreds. All bolts, end caps, and what little bit of mesh was left locked in the rollers and so far I only have one lock strip out... What is the trick, besides cleaning them better when I install them again? Needle nose pliers only tear the ends of the strip off, and a screw driver just irritates it. Helllllllllppppppp p.s. the "support section" of the Streach devices page tells you all day long how to put screen in but not how to remove it. p.p.s. My first 3 Roller Frames I got at a Wild Side North open house and talked Rolly out of some demo units. It has been around 6-7 years since I saw him stand on a Newman Roller Frame and impress the whole crowd... He asked me to stand on one but I told him I believed him after seeing him on it (Rolly was not small...). He was very nice and funny and sold me on Newmans, I just never had to replace them myself till now. | ||
