I do three things before I restretch them. First I brush haze remover ( the harsh stuff!) in the channels with a stiff brush, and work it in. Then I powerwash the channels. Then I use full strength reclaim fluid to break up the residual emulsion, and powerwash that, too. Finally I touch up the edges of the channel, if the need it. I ude 600, then 1000 wet/dry sandpaper, and make sure it's wet. Also, wrap the sandpaper around a small block of wood to keep it flat. By the way, the best way to keep them clean, is to keep emulsion from going in while coating, and ink at other times. And every time you reclaim spend plenty of time power washing the channels. A little preventive maintenance in this area, goes a LONG way in the end! Good Luck! Bret ____________________ Let's go Holoholo! | |
