We tell most of our customers, and have it stated right on our Acceptance form, that we will hold screens for up to 2 weeks before reclaiming them. Now, with that said, there are some customers who we hold onto the screens for a long time. Like everyone else we count when we receive shirts, and as we pack them -- but I know that doesn't guarantee that we have not missed something. I've actually seen it myself. So, if a customer calls me and tells me, within the two week period, that we shorted them -- I print it. If it is outside the 2 week period then we generally will charge them to recreate the screens (again there are always exception depending upon the customer). I think a lot of it depends upon the customer. We try to treat everyone as if they are our most important customer, but there are some folks who we have developed a long standing relationship with and we sometimes extend the policy for them. In your case -- print the one shirt and put your policy in writing -- but I would also hold onto the screens for a while before reclaiming (e.g. a week or two at least). I know this is tough -- I have some customers who are 5 colors front & back -- means I have to tie up 10 screens for a couple of weeks -- but that is policy ____________________ BreakOut Prints & Design "Break Out Of The Ordinary" 12169 Kirkham Road, Suite D Poway, CA 92064 "Building Long-term Customer Relationships"
