So we offer to count everything out to the customer before they leave. They have to sign a receipt line on the sales form which says they received their order complete and correct. Most of that stuff we see is from our own friends and neighbors and it usually is 'exact count' stuff as Scott mentioned. We just had a local order which was 2 of this and four of that and I happened to be the one counting and packing. It literally was an ex-neighbor of ours -who couldn't pick up until 4 PM Saturday and we're closed on Sat- so I made positive-sure that the order was correct. Sure enough another lady from the school calls to let us know that we were one YL short. We just laughed (not in her face), held our ground, told her to keep trying and never did hear from her again. Later on our contact called to say a teacher had listed the wrong size for herself and needed one pice AL. No problem and they had it the next day. On another local order we had a guy call in to tell us that we were one MD short but he hadn't finished counting the entire order yet. Yeah, right, we'll get right on that........... We deal with people across the country and rarely if ever hear this song and dance from them. I've got the same group of people processing orders in the same way for all of our customers yet we have count problems with just this 100+/- square mile area group of people. I've given up trying to figure it out - count the order or sign the receipt please. | |
