Here's tyhe skinny. Not so very long ago, (I think about 4-5 years ago now), we had some issues where we had a pretty big debate on this same issue. It came to be, that Scott decided after that large debate that since a large portion of those business owners who were in search of artist would pop in a request here in the artist forum …(because that's where the artist were every day). So, with newbie's not knowing the intended original rules, they made post right here in the artist forum. It went on like that ……for years without anyone mentioning it (when it came to a screen printer (requesting art here). The only time it ever came to light (go figure) was when an occasional newbie artist would come and post an advertisement for self promotion. OH NO!!!!!!!!!! some thought. (this guy was yet another fairly new …but highly confident, self proclaimed, screen print board expert & moderator) We can't have these Newb Artist posting to sell art (to artist) so it became a BASH FEST on some of the unsuspecting innocent new artist and people got tired of it because it was so very negative and didn't pertain to what we were about here on these boards. Negative stuff that doesn't pertain happened a good bit but it's usually random and does not go on for long. THIS ISSUE DID. So, Scott (Owner of the site) made it so that since people were as equally drawn to come to the artist board in search of artist and artist came to the artist forum to post sales for themselves…since they would see request for sale of art, ……they changed the rules so that business people could post without getting bashed and artist could post without getting bashed …again, since thy were drawn to come here for that reason under the title ARTIST'S at anyways, despite the rules. What it boiled down to, was that the original layout and rules were re-assigned …without making major physical changes to the core of the site. I guess they felt that they over looked the how much the various titles of forums would make people think that THIS was the place to come for what they needed. It was a change out of accommodating what developed naturally like when they put in a traffic light later on only after so many people were killed at that location. Same thing here. So a small (SALE POST ARE ALLOWED HERE) was added just for others who knew, to prove that it's ok.
