I had a used 8/8 workhorse and then got a brand spanking 6/6 anatol manual press.
the workhorse worked but I didn't need that many colors, plus I moved and the thing was a beast. I checked anatol at a tradeshow and was very impressed.

There manual presses are amazing!!! Seriously!

Here's some answers to your questions:

Question #1 - When I looked at how the micro-registration worked on an Anatol it immediately clicked in my brain as to how this micro registration would be the way I would have personally designed it myself (if I had the ability). Is the micro really as good as it looks?

- the micros are really sweet! very simple to use and stable. way better then my workhorse.

Question #2 - For a 2 person operation would you recommend going with the 8/4 or 8/8 model. Mind you the two of us would only be printing at the same time, if in doing so, we made better time then we would if just one of us was printing.

- i'd say you go with the 8/8 because if you're gonna be doing some flashes you're gonna want that cool time in order to print again. do they even make a 8/4?

Question #3 - I think I like the idea of the side clamps, however many of my aluminum screens are 20x24, would this size frame work on the side clamps without modification? I also have some wooden 19x21 would those work?
For now I am keeping the ready made screens, so I believe roller frames are out of the question.

- side clamps are waaay better! my workhorse only had the one clamp, it worked but with the side clamps on an anatol it's a lot more stable and you have a lot more lee way in placing your designs on the screens because you can move them up and down with the side clamps. i use 20 x 24 screens usually, sometimes i use 23 x 31 which both work really well. im sure your wood screens would work as well.

another cool thing with the anatol press is that it's really solid and they don't use a ton of steel in making it. basically, it's not soo much of a beast as my workhorse.
it's a really cool press and im planning on keeping it forever even if i upgrade to an auto, which would probably be an anatol.

hope this helps you.
