I am a 2 man operation and am looking to upgrade from my Workhorse Oddessy 4/1 press. I need an eight color press and the Anatol is looking mighty good to me right now. Question #1 - When I looked at how the micro-registration worked on an Anatol it immediately clicked in my brain as to how this micro registration would be the way I would have personally designed it myself (if I had the ability). Is the micro really as good as it looks? Question #2 - For a 2 person operation would you recommend going with the 8/4 or 8/8 model. Mind you the two of us would only be printing at the same time, if in doing so, we made better time then we would if just one of us was printing. Question #3 - I think I like the idea of the side clamps, however many of my aluminum screens are 20x24, would this size frame work on the side clamps without modification? I also have some wooden 19x21 would those work? For now I am keeping the ready made screens, so I believe roller frames are out of the question. The following is a re-post of my equipment forums post it explains my business situation: I suppose I should elaborate more as to what my needs are. I am in charge of in-house manufacturing for a few online only clothing stores. We have started offering hooded sweatshirts and are not too keen on keeping inventory, however on my current press it can take around 1- 1/2 hours to setup the 4 color correctly, and it is simply not profitable. When I first purchased the Oddessy I had very different requirement, it was really more as a hobby, and I never had much ambition to go beyond 2 colors. Everything was pretty much white and red on black shirts. Needless to say many things have changed since then and I am now working with some amazing artists who have made my ambitions more colorful. Most job I do are short run for in house (20-50 shirts) as we try to keep inventory as low as is piratical. For extra incolme I do take jobs printing for other people however the largest job I have had yet was 150 shirts. My Oddessy has served me well, but I have outgrown it, I need something that can do 8 colors and easy setup is key. I am a firm believer in cost/benefit analysis, and while it may cost a little more upfront for the best micro I am sure it will save me money when it saves me time. | ||
