Greetings Ian, Good to see that you are doing your homework on the presses. Both series of the Carousel manual screen printing presses are top notch and will compliment any shop. The E series was introduced about 1 year ago based on feedback from customers looking for a durable manual press with the same great features as the standard Carousel but on a lighter frame. Our engineers came up with the E series to respond to that need. The E series is only available in 8 stations or less. It has our standard 3 point micro registration, solid aluminum pallets (16" X 22"), Standard Quick Change pallet release (slide style is optional), and Side Clamp screen holders for less flexing during the printing stroke. As the E series is only available in the smaller units (8 stations or less) or engineers were able to reduce the amount of steel used to manufacture the unit while maintaining a durable, dependable manual press at a lower cost. It is a excellent choice for any one looking for a press with great micros, solid registration, smooth rotations, low fatigue, and quality images.
