On a tite budget, and with plenty of time on your hands, door to door cold calling is effective. Give every prospect a tshirt and a business card and whatever else you have to offer. My personal experiance is that I could gain about one customer a day doing that. Hmm, lets see, if I got off am arse and started cold calling again, I would gain one customer every working day, times 250 working days a year, times an average of $1,300 in annual sales per customer, times an average of 3.5 years that they will remain customers of mine, thats $1,137,500 in sales. At 70% labor and materials cost (combined), most shop owners could be earning well over $300,000/year addition if they just got out of the shop and started making sales calls. | |
