I have made a few misc. sizes out of melamine. You can but it from Home Depot, Lowes or even an independent hardware store (if the still exist). However, for your everyday platens they are cheap enough to buy professionally made platens and not have to worry about if you cut them straight or not. After all, we are screen printers not wood workers . Wild Side North and Tech Support has Workhorse shirt boards for $48. Performance Screen is between $20-32 depending on size and if you want the necks on them. The brackets are sold separately, but you can easily mount your own. So as cheap as $80 for a set of 4, why bother making your own unless it is you need an oddball size that is not readily available. | |
