Leigh-Ann,

First, thank your daughter and son-in-law from our family and I am sure you are proud of them as well.

It was very late last night and I came home after a night out and guess things just started flowing, not directed at anyone particular at the time, but have seen some pretty selfserving posts that have raised the hair on the back of my neck.

You really just raised the same point. Man is man and has always been prone to violence for any of the reasons I listed or others and nothing is really going to change that. Not without global Frontal Lobotomies.

Since nobody can control the really bad ones around the world, I can never see why anyone would be so foolish as to desire the United States to become militarily helpless as a country.

Regarding your statement about protests, if you look very carefully, you will see that minority (not racewise) groups actually have managed to get all kinds of laws passed that continue to slowly chip away at our freedoms. Just look around at all the political correctness laws being passed.

We, as a people, are having our morals and general human decency legislated. Today if you take issue with someone, theres a really good chance you will end up in court. Makes no sense. So while you think the government is going ahead anyway and ignoring your voice, others have found a way to get their agendas passsed through legislaton, slowly, and they are willing to win over the long haul.

I see everything slowly moving towards a form of socialism. Just look around. It will happen so slowly and over such a long time that it will already be in place and many here wont even notice it happened until its too late. Then see what freedoms are left.

The reason we vote is because we do have a voice and we should be thankful for that. But the decisions are made, or should be made, by the majority voice or vote. Just because a few thousand protest in the streets over something does not necessarily mean they represent the voice of the majority, possibly just the ones that made it on TV.

If the elected officials dont cast votes from the voices of the majority then they need to be voted out and guess what? The people who vote for them in their legislative districts can do that.

Personally, I wont go to counter a protest rally because all it would result in is possible jail time or shouting matches that would not accomplish a thing anyway. Besides, I dont look good on TV, especially being dragged away by the police and my wife would probably not bail me out.
