I know exactly what you mean, we always strive for the perfect print and done in the quickest time however we have found the reality of speeding up the print process by cutting corners usually results in a less than 100% quality print. What we have found that works for us is being clever in setting the screens up in our auto in the most efficient way so that we still do as many pfp's on each color required but in the least number of revolutions. This may sound simple but there is more than one way to get the job done. We nearly always print a clear under-base under the complete design, even with halftones if required. This allows us to achieve a very smooth print and some top colors only require a single pass which can result in a faster print process. Like you nearly every job we do has a PMS match so opacity and exact color match is essential. Personally I don't think you can get the perfect spot color print (on darks) with single passes so the reality of 'print flash print' is still essential....for us anyway! ____________________ David | |
