It's expensive....about $75k. However, at the time we were printing over $40k a year in film on our imagesetter. The big savings isn't really in your material cost though...it's in your labor. Using DTS, you skip the vaccuum table step in the screen room, and we are exposing 4 screens at time by just hanging them on a wall. Also in the screen room you no longer are managing thousands of plates in folders...it all goes digital. It's quicker for your art department as the just output to a server. Up front it might seem expensive for the equipment...but if you do the math for your shop in labor and material cost savings.....you can maybe justify the expense.
