| There are tutorials on the web on doing simulated process, which is what you'll probably be doing if you're printing on darks. If you've got the capacity for color on your press, index printing is also an alternative and there are tutorials on that also. ScreenWeb has some tuts, and I think there are some on the home of this forum. Do a google search. Regarding software, you can often get QuikSeps on Ebay pretty cheap, and it works like FastFilms and Wilflex's EasyArt . . . they're all Photoshop plugins. You will have to fiddle with the channels, though, to get the results you want. I don't think any of 'em will reliably give you dead-on seps by just running the program. I have QuikSeps, for what it's worth. Others on these forums may have better insights into the other two programs, but ultimately, the real pros seem to learn to do their own. | |
