  Hello,

The type of pad printer you want will depend on what you will be printing, the reliability, you are looking for and your budget.

If you are printing very small runs (<500) then a manual printer will work great for you. Anymore than 500pcs you will want to invest into an automatic printer to avoid a cramped arm. If you plan on printing more than one color you will need to keep this in mind, because you will end up printing every part once for each color (i.e. 2 colors, 2 prints). The best thing to do is tell the sales rep what you are printing, and any future projects you have in mind for the pad printer. Hopefully they will be able to assist all of your needs.

If reliability is not your main concern then any North American built machine will work, including Kent. If you are looking for a high quality, and very dependent machine, then you will have to look for a German built machine, with Tampoprint being the best. I will have to warn you about Chinese built machines, they work great at first, but within a year of regular use, you will have problems upon problems. This is because of the lower quality parts used, to keep machine costs down.

Now the “fun” part, your budget. There is too much to get into with this, so I will only give you my advice. You will get what you pay for, if you spend little, you will end up with a printer that will become problematic, if you spend a bit more, then you will get a printer that will last over 20 years. (I have seen Tampoprint printers from the late 70’s still in full production everyday)

If you have any questions feel free to send me an email.

Regards
