It sounds like you're making progress on the plates The reason for the tint (screen) is to leave tiny pedestals which support the doctor blade so it leaves an even amount of ink across the entire image. Without the pedestals the blade would bow down into the ink and pull it out of the image area (dishing). Depending on your plate type and imprint size some imprints can done without screening the plate. On images that had no more than 1/4" solid ink area we would burn the plate once and skip the screen exposure. Most of our imprints were less than 1 1/2". You should be able to thin the ink up to 20% maybe even more. What ink are you using? TPR? TPU? ____________________ Enjoy life.....you'll be a happier person. | |
