An easy way to find the emulsion side of your film is to scratch it with something sharp near the edge or corner (where it won't be a problem). The emulsion (and screen) side will show the scratch. There are different manufacturers and types of plates out there and each has it's own main exposure and screen exposure times. So trial and error is the only way to find the best times for your materials and equipment. I know trial and error sucks with the high cost of plate material, but it's needed. Are you sure the problem is with the plate? You really didn't give much info on what is happening in your attempts. Can you give us more info? Type of plate, alcohol or water wash? Your fix could be as simple as wiping your pad with lacquer thinner to remove any oils, or changing the angle of the doctor blade, but we'll need to know more. ____________________ Enjoy life.....you'll be a happier person. | |
