Here is some info for etching and printing with steel plates. Peel off protective mask in a semi dark room. Place film positive( emulsion down)dull side down. Expose for 2 minutes, take off film and place a 300 lpi 80% black halftone( for fine print or 200 lpi 90% black for larger text. Develop in Xylene until image is clear, rinse well with water. Dry with hairdryer until the plate is hot. Etch with steel acid using soft brissle paint brush for 1 minute, stop rinse with water, check it out for pin holes etc.Heat again and etch for another 1-1.5 minutes. This has worked for me for 20 years, hope it helps. | ||
