Cut but don't weed. Lightly scuff the vinyl surface with a fine Scotchbrite pad. Spray your fade with Krylon. For whatever reason, there's something in Krylon that promotes adhesion. Allow to dry and apply a thin coat of Frog Juice clear and allow to flash but not completely dry before weeding. You also don't want to overdo the paint and clear or you'll weld your cuts back together. Weed and then let it completely dry, maybe even overnight before applying the transfer tape. I only use a light-tack transfer tape when doing this. You can also lightly rub the sticky side of the transfer tape across your pants leg to remove some of the tack. | |
