There are a couple of different ways that you can approach this project. The amount of money that you finally spend will depend on whether you just want a solution for digital printing, contour cutting, and applying heat transfers, or if you want a machine that will do all of that and also open up markets to print decals, posters, and banners.

The most economical approach would be to use a wide format Epson printer such as the 4880/17” or 7880/24” format printer and one of the specialty transfer papers that are available paired up with a cutting solution such as the Roland GX-24 Desktop vinyl cutter, along with a decent quality heat transfer press. You will also need some RIP software to drive the cutter. Total cost of this package purchased new would run you around $6,000 $7,000

A more costly approach, but one that would offer the opportunity to jump into a wider range of application markets would be to look at the Roland VersaCamm 30” mild solvent printer that includes an integrated cutting solution. This printer/cutter combination comes complete with Roland’s VersaWorks RIP that offers excellent color management and cutting performance. The VersaCamm SP300 with a decent quality heat transfer press will run around $12,000 - $13,000. International Coatings offers a range of Forever® brand specialty heat transfer papers that offer excellent results on light and dark garments.

I hope that this information is what you were looking for.
