Again, not knowing about about the details with your conversation with Lance, and forgive me if I am pointing out the obvious to some...just trying to help out. Your flash times on tees will/can be different than the fleece. You may also want to change the elevation of the flash for respective garments, as the fleece and tees are differnet thickness. Also the cotton vs. poly will heat/flash at different times. Hearing you say there was a 'snap' makes it sound like you may need more cool down time. May not be a factor if you decrease flash time, or elevate the flash, but keep it in mind. We always has a cool down station (or 2)_ after the flash, and many times put a big floor fan blowing right over the garment on the cool down staion. Just the ticket-at times. I don't remember what kind of press that you have. If it's an M&R with revolver, there are some options in case you can't give up a cool down station. For instance in your sequence, print white on head 1, flash head 2, and next color on head 8. Then revolve, and if printing without any more flashes, run 3-4-5-6-7. This will also help if you do not have the room to put a fan. Also a fleece is going to cool at a slower rate than a tee. Keep that in mind as well. If you do not have a revolver, you can always run your press as if it did, manually, entering a new sequence for every set of garments. Not perfect, nor the way that the mass production shops do it, nor the manufacturers talk about. But sometimes, it's all about gettin it done! There are plenty of other options with a revolver as well. It may not break any speed records, but you can sleep at night, with all your hair intact. ![]() Oh and one more thing. You can add a 'flash additive' to your white ink, which will decrease the flash temp of the ink, therefore the flash time, and temp needed, etc. Oh, and did I mention that there are white inks specifically designed for underbasing? they have inherently low tack, and low flash times. In my view there is no such thing as an 'all around white' Talk to the reps, get some samples, test, record, test, record, test record, test, record, test, record, test, record, test, record, test, record, test, record, test, record,....do I sound like broken record???? Feel free to call me anytime. Capt. Bret 860-535-9227 ____________________ Let's go Holoholo! | |
