One thing to consider is that can your customer tolerate the dreaded "box" background effect when using conventional heat transfer? Most logos are open white space designs. Dye sub resolves that, however, you have garment material limitations to poly materials. If you don't have a high poly % and cannot live with the "box" background" ... then a direct print like a TJet would be needed, or trimming a conventional transfer by hand or with a digital cutter. That box effect will vary from paper to paper, and will not be a factor if your design does not have open white space and you trim the border. TJ2 papers are initally heavy until 3 or 4 washes. The Translucent type papers wash out most of the the hand in the first wash. Both papers do OK on white, but you can see the "box" if you look for it. The Translucent type papers look better initially as the "box" is very white ... but as the shirt itself is washed and looses it's whiteness the transfer "box" doesn't, and stays very white. So initially the Translucent has a less noticeable "box" effect, but over washes and time will start to be noticeable. Always trade-offs in this business. Michael | ||
