Steven, What brand paper are you using? I have printed over 16,000 sheets of MagicJet ll (Transjet ll) paper with no problems. As for the roughness, what I have found is the fibers of the shirt lift slightly when peeling. I just lay the image face down on the Teflon cover on the lower platen or lay a sheet of Teflon over the image and press for about 4 to 6 seconds and then peel immediately.
