By now, you must have heard of(or experienced first hand) the drawbacks to lasers and the heat they use distorting the media. and goofing up tight registration. Inkjets are definitely the output type devise of choice by the majority of screenprinter who require precision. You will then also need a RIP to "emulate" postscript, and have a choice between expensive, sophisticated programs which also adjust ink volume, or a bare bones freebie, Ghostscript. There are printers out there like the HP 9800, and perhaps some Epsons, which will take 13x19 media, and are less than $300. The film and ink will cost you more than laser, but the results are precise. No more need to trap excessively. BTW, Ghostcript requires the installation of a true postscript driver to "fool" the graphics program. I use the HP 5500 driver. ____________________ The Board Best Helps Those Who Help Themselves.
